Frequently
asked questions for those interested in running
their own Gadget...

1) Can we use our Amazon Affiliate link for the
books shown in the Great Horror Books gadget so that
we get affiliate revenue for purchases?
Of course. You will actually be uploading your products
yourself through the "User Admin" link
on this site: http://www.integratedgadgetsystem.com
so you can specify whatever product links you want.
As a Gadget "User" (a better term for this
would be Gadget "Owner" or "Licensee),
you will have control over when and how your products
are displayed. You can freely change products, replacing
old products with new ones. You may also activate
or deactivate features, such as social bookmark links.
2) As long as Google does not discontinue the
service and we upload only legal content, will
the gadget run indefinitely?
We hope that your Gadget will run and be successful
for years and years to come. We don't intend on
ever removing your Gadget from the system. We also
plan to continually develop new features that will
enhance your Gadget and make it grow in popularity.
Through paid-advertising, we will be sending a
steady stream of traffic to our directory of Gadgets
(www.googlegadgetdirectory.com) from which your
Gadget will benefit. Still, there are always possibilities
of company or technology changes that may cause
your Gadget to function differently than planned
or to be no longer accessible. This is just a standard
'natural disaster' disclaimer that we have to make
to protect ourselves. We also need to inform Gadget
Licensees that our company policies or pricing
may change at any time.
3) Is
the $100 "lease" fee
one time?
The $100 is a one-time fee and there are no additional
or hidden charges. There may be technical service
fees if, down the road, you request functionality
or display changes to your Gadget; but any such
work will be billed at a reasonable rate and you
will be given a quote beforehand.
For the $100 fee, we will build, broadcast and
publicize your Gadget that will be active indefinitely.
You will have 18 free product uploads. If you want
more than 18 products, you may buy product uploads
at a Licensee's discounted rate. Normal advertisers
who do not have their own Gadget pay $5 per product
upload, and we upload the products using their
text and graphics. But because you will be uploading
your own products instead of us, you will only
pay $2 per product upload. You will never be required
to purchase more product uploads; and 18 products
could be enough to keep users interested in your
Gadget long-term (especially if your Gadget is
set to 'hourly' or 'daily' product rotation).
4) Can you guarantee that my Gadget will get a
certain amount of traffic?
Although we will have traffic campaigns in place
to send traffic to both our Gadgets and Licensees'
Gadgets, we cannot make claims or guarantees about
traffic or sales. We will be manually submitting
your Gadget to the various Google Gadget directories;
and we'll do our best to send targeted consumers
to your Gadget(s) and products, but you may consider
augmenting this traffic with your own campaigns.
You may also want to embed your Gadget on your
website to help build a user base.
